sheep are our earth bending teachers
crafting reciprocity between people, sheep & the land
Their hooves are designed to gently plant seeds into the earth. They shape our landscapes, build our soil, feed our communities and ecosystems.
where they graze
Our sheep rationally graze through a chestnut and rolling pastures on Chemakum Lands (Port Townsend WA) at Natembea
what they do for the land
Sheep are our eath bendering teachers. They eat grasses and wildflowers and give back the seeds to the land wrapped in a pocket of fertilizer. As the sheep move through the land the ground holds more life with every season: more diversity of plants, more insects, more worms and fungi under hoof.
living in reciprocity
The shepherd gives the sheep a home, safety, love, and food. The sheep give meat, wool, medicine, and companionship. We give our lives to one another.
sacred slaughter
Our teacher Harmony from Gathering Ways and many other teachers have taught us how to hold slaughter with our ancestors. Every time we hold the knife, we do so with intention, gratitude, & reverence.
